UMB's Office of Communications and Public Affairs and Center for Information Technology Services have been working together with TerminalFour (T4) to upgrade our T4 Content Management System (CMS) servers over the last several months. As part of this process, it is necessary to have a content freeze period where all UMB websites will not be updated while we upgrade to the new servers.

We are planning for the content freeze to occur from March 6 to March 10. While you will still have access to T4 during this time, we discourage any changes from being made during this period.

If any new content is created during this content freeze period, at the end of the period, the information will disappear from the website. If there is any high-priority content that you become aware of during this week that must be posted, it can be created and published, but it will have to be re-created and published again after the content freeze. Please only do this on an emergency basis.

New submissions for The Elm, The Elm Weekly, the Elm Calendar, or any other user-submitted content types will not be allowed during this week. A weekly newsletter such as The Elm Weekly will still be able to be created from existing content created before the cutoff of March 3. Please submit any new Elm Weekly announcements for the week of March 13 by 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 1. In addition, the deadline for Elm Weekly announcements for the week of March 6 will be Tuesday, Feb. 28.

There won’t be any noticeable changes to the CMS interface for users after this upgrade is complete, but this is an important process that needs to be performed. Please feel free to contact the Web Development and Interactive Media team at CommunicationsWeb@umaryland.edu if you have any questions or concerns about how to handle content during the content freeze. Thank you for your understanding and patience during this process.
