An Afternoon of Hope

The University of Maryland School of Social Work (UMSSW) Center for Behavioral Health and Well-Being Research (BHWell) is proud to be part of “An Afternoon of Hope” as we host one of the live, in-person audiences for this powerful national event across major U.S. cities on World Suicide Prevention Day, Sept. 10, 2024 (2-5 p.m. ET).

This event will feature renowned experts from the suicide prevention field, including our very own Jodi Jacobson Frey, PhD, LCSW-C, professor and associate dean for research at UMSSW; faculty executive director of BHWell; and leading suicide researcher.

Frey will provide an overview of the state of suicide prevention in the workplace, research, and best practices and will share the national virtual stage with speakers who will share insights, actionable strategies, and personal stories of survival and hope.
