Brewing Biology is a community forum series with a focus on topics in public health. Our goal is to provide a space where Baltimore residents can ask questions and learn about the public health initiatives going on within the city. Each event brings together experts from basic science research, medicine, local government, and community groups whose work relate to the public health topic at hand. The format of the event is a short talk by a researcher, a panel discussion with experts, and a floor event with opportunities to learn more about the topic and hear about resources in the Baltimore City area.

This event topic at 5:30 p.m. April 24 is "Minding Your Mental Health" and will focus on how to check in on your own mental health in everyday life. We will be joined by City Council member Zeke Cohen, members of the Baltimore City Behavioral Health Services, experts in mindfulness and mental health from the University of Maryland, Baltimore and Johns Hopkins University as well as community groups like the Metro Baltimore chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

Food is available for those who register for the event. Registration is free.
