Cardenas

Dr. Cardenas and colleagues will be part of a panel at the Latino Social Workers Organization (LSWO) Conference that will highlight the importance of culturally responsive practice with Latina intimate partner violence (IPV) survivors, stressing the importance of safety, dignity, and freedom from violence.

This panel will focus on the need for culturally relevant and comprehensive IPV screenings, discuss community-based initiatives, and advocate for advancing IPV research centering the Latine/x/o community. This approach underscores the essential role of social workers in weaving human rights principles into IPV care, fostering more inclusive and effective support for Latina IPV survivors.
