We were on the lower plaza next to Lexington Market from July 30-Aug. 1.

All week, we had DJ Romey Rome, a 15-year-old graduate of our community partner, HeartSmiles. DJ Romey Rome played music for everyone! Check out Heartsmiles phenomenal programs here: Home | HeartSmiles (heartsmilesmd.com)

On Tuesday, we had drumming with Creative Nomads and Yella South Africa. The drumming helped to bring together the community surrounding Eutaw Street including University of Maryland, Baltimore and Lexington Market and provided an opportunity for participants to share their story through the universal language of music.

On Wednesday, we had face painting with Charming Faces Face Painting. All of Charming Faces Face Painting services can be found here: Baltimore, Face Painters | Charming Faces Face Painting.

On Thursday, we had a dance performance by Media Rhythm Institute Studios, Inc. More information about Media Rhythm Institute Studios can be found here Baltimore Arts Education | Media Rhythm Institute (mriprograms.org). The youth of Media Rhythm treated the crowd to an energetic performance to club music. The youth invited crowd members to dance with them to the rhythm of Baltimore Club Music, the heartbeat of the Baltimore music scene. The positive vibes and energy brought by the young dancers helped to shift the narrative about our youth in Baltimore. We also had Christmas In July with Creative Nomads.

We also hosted community partners on site who provided resources including housing and job training.

Neighborhood Housing Services of Baltimore shared information about resources to help achieve and maintain homeownership. They also provided educational resources, specialized financial programs, and support systems for Baltimore households.

St. Vincent de Paul Head Start was on site to help families with young children enroll in Head Start.

On Thursday we had yoga, dance, and arts and crafts with Creative Nomads. Please see information about their programs here Creative Nomads (thecreativenomads.org).

We will also had fun and games like cornhole, hopscotch, bubbles, and  ice cream.

See you this Tuesday-Thursday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. next to Lexington Market on Eutaw Street!
