Germany

Please join us for a half-hour information session about a global course opportunity to take place in Erfurt, Germany, in June 2025!

This global independent study explores provision of services in a variety of local, national, and global settings within divided cities. We bring together students from diverse backgrounds from three countries: Germany, Israel, and the United States.

Discussions among students and faculty from these countries, who have seen historical and current conflicts around religion, race, ethnicity, and other intersecting identities, can be particularly fruitful in the current context of political upheaval and social injustices.

Students will explore social justice implications of substantive topics of interest. There will be three pre-travel preparation meetings (one in December 2024; two in April/May 2025), with exact dates and times to be decided with the cohort.

The main portion of the class will take place in Erfurt with students and faculty from the partner institutions attending an in-person seminar with site visits and attendance at the International Social Work Days Conference.

Course participants will have the opportunity to present during the student presentation days. During the conference we will be joined by students from Poland and India.
