The University of Maryland School of Medicine's Department of Medical and Research Technology is proud to announce new online programs launching in the fall of 2024.  

New for fall 2024: Online Hematology Categorical and online Clinical Chemistry Categorical will be offered in addition to online Clinical Microbiology Categorical.

Part of the qualifications for the online categorical programs is that you have current employment in a Clinical Microbiology laboratory, Clinical Hematology laboratory, or Clinical Chemistry laboratory that you seek certification in. You also must have a BS degree that includes 30 credits in biology and 30 credits in chemistry.

There are two options to enroll:

  1. You can seek one semester for four to five courses in each subject.
  2. You can seek two semesters with four to five courses in each subject.
