Background

Across the country, Kia and Hyundai vehicle thefts have risen by more than 1,000 percent since 2020. While crime on campus remains low, UMB Police and Public Safety has worked with Hyundai Motor America to receive wheel locks to prevent vehicles from being stolen.

UMB Police and Public Safety’s steering wheel lock giveaway events were a massive success! The department gave away 700-plus free steering wheel locks, which help to prevent vehicle theft. Read about our wheel lock giveaway events
