For UMBrella’s fifth annual Women’s History Month Symposium, you’re invited to take some time out of your busy schedule to “Reimagine the Possibilities” in your life and your leadership journey during this all in-person day with keynote speakers, workshops, and networking.

The agenda kicks off with a morning keynote featuring Maryland First Lady Dawn Moore in conversation with Secretary of Appointments Tisha Edwards, JD '01, MSW '00. Afterward, participate in an engaging 90-minute breakout workshop experience — whether you aim to focus on your strengths, realize the potential of introverted leadership, discover your joy, or cultivate your confidence, we’ve got you covered.

The afternoon continues with lunch and a fireside chat with Shanna Hocking, founder and CEO of Hocking Leadership, LLC, and author of “One Bold Move a Day: Meaningful Actions Women Can Take to Fulfill Their Leadership and Career Potential.”

Then, the 2024 UMBrella Awards will be presented and the 2024 UMBrella Scholarship recipients will be announced. Next, transition into an interactive mindfulness workshop for a full hour of self-care. Cap off the day with a lively social hour featuring tasty bites, beverages, and a book signing.

The UMBrella Group is also hosting a donation drive for the UMB Student Pantry. You can help by donating unopened packages of tampons, pads, liners, reusable cups, or period panties for all flows and sizes. Collection bins will be available during the event in the SMC Campus Center.

Don’t miss out! It’s an “all-around feel-good event,” says a 2023 symposium attendee.
