Nov. 1: Volunteer for ‘Trick or Treat with UMB’
October 02, 2024The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Office of Community Engagement (OCE) will host the third annual “Trick or Treat with UMB” event on Friday, Nov. 1, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at 873 W. Baltimore St. (the parking lot at West Baltimore and South Poppleton streets).
Join us for a night filled with frights and fun. This event provides safe and free Halloween activities for the youth and families of West Baltimore. Community members can stop by more than 20 tables offering delicious treats, fun games, creative crafts, thrilling scavenger hunts, and more.
Consider volunteering for Trick or Treat with UMB. There are two ways to volunteer:
- Run a Trick-or-Treat Table
UMB student and employee groups can sign up for a trick-or-treat table at this event. Groups must decorate their tables to create a festive display and hand out treats to the community. A 3-by-6 rectangular table and two chairs will be provided. Groups are responsible for bringing their own candy/treats, decorations, and any additional seating. Costumes are optional but highly encouraged.
- Sign Up as a General Volunteer
Individuals/groups can sign up for one shift or two shifts (if they would like to volunteer for the entire event). Volunteers will be assigned specific roles during their shifts. Roles include setup, registration support, greeter, activities support, and breakdown. Costumes are optional but highly encouraged.
Shifts:
- Setup and activities: 3:30 to 5 p.m.
- Activities and breakdown: 5 to 6:30 p.m.
