President Jarrell Grants UMB Employees Administrative Leave for Dec. 24
December 18, 2024UMB President Bruce E. Jarrell, MD, FACS, announced Nov. 27 that was granting one day of paid Administrative Leave for Tuesday, Dec. 24, to UMB staff members who do not have essential employee responsibilities.
The policy governing Administrative Leave is available on this Policies and Procedures webpage. Staff members will receive a follow-up email from their human resources director or manager with more details, including how the leave should be coded on your time sheet.
Jarrell said the extra day off was granted to express his gratitude to the UMB community during a week in which Thanksgiving and American Indian Heritage Day are celebrated.
“I’m thankful for you, the UMB community, and all the ways you show up for each other and the communities we serve,” Jarrell wrote in a Universitywide email.
“It’s a privilege to lead this great institution, where I’m surrounded by people who are guided by our core values and steadfast in our mission to improve the human condition and serve the public good. Thank you for making UMB what it is and for striving to make it better every day.”
