Throughout the COVID-19 recovery, Stokes chaired critical task forces, including the Small Business Recovery Taskforce and Mayor Brandon Scott's Business, Workforce, and Neighborhood Development Transition Committee. Currently, she co-chairs a task force evaluating development incentives.

Before her tenure at Downtown Partnership, Stokes spent two decades as CEO of greiBO, earning over 85 awards, including the prestigious 2022 Influential Marylander and 2022 Whitney M. Young Awards. Recognized as a three-time "Top 100 Woman," she was also named one of the 2021 Faces to Watch by The Baltimore Sun.
