Student Pantry Logo

Did you know that approximately 15.4 percent of UMB students skipped a meal at least once a month because they didn't have enough money for food?

The adverse effects of food insecurity on student mental and physical health can be seen on college campuses across the country. UMB is helping to address student food insecurity through its student pantry and pop-up pantry meal kits.

Since opening in fall 2021, the UMB Student Pantry has:

  • held 30 pop-up events across campus distributing close to 1,500 meal kit bags.
  • fulfilled 2,540 requests for food and toiletries.

Join fellow UMB faculty and staff in participating in this 30-day challenge (April 22-May 21) ahead of spring finals and convocation ceremonies to reach our goal of 300 additional meal kits (total cost: $3,000).

Each kit costs just $10 to create and provides four servings of food per recipient.
