As we welcome new students to the school, we are sharing a few reminders to ensure everyone's safety.
- The School of Nursing building in Baltimore is open from 7:30 a.m. - 9 p.m., Monday - Friday. Student UMB One Cards will not allow access to the building prior to 7:30 a.m.
- Beginning Sept. 3, students can access the the Health Sciences and Human Services Library (HSHSL) early and late Monday - Thursday (6 a.m. - 11 p.m.) and on weekends (Saturday - Sunday, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.). Students can also reserve library study rooms up to three weeks in advance here.
- All students must access the nursing building with their UMB One Card whenever entering the building, even after lunch or other quick steps outside the building during the day. Each student will swipe their card at the reader with red/green lights on the kiosk at the front security desk, or at the wall reader if entering from the SMC Campus Center.
- Anyone without a UMB One Card must show a photo ID and sign in/out at the guard’s desk.
- Students are not permitted to enter the building from the Penn Street side entrance by the UMMC Urgent Care doors, as it is difficult for security to monitor entering traffic near elevator access. Student UMB One Cards will not grant access to this door.
