The Center

The University of Maryland School of Social Work (UMSSW) is excited to announce the launch of the new website for the Center for Restorative Change, an initiative of UMSSW dedicated to advancing restorative justice practices.

The website, centerforrestorativechange.org, provides comprehensive information about each of the center's innovative programs, including Promise Heights, Family Connection, B'more for Healthy Babies, and the Rise Family Support Center, which is scheduled to launch in summer 2024.

Program Highlights

  • Promise Heights: A collaborative initiative focused on delivering comprehensive support services to children and families in West Baltimore.
  • Family Connection: This program emphasizes strengthening family units by providing access to vital resources and support networks.
  • B'more for Healthy Babies: A program committed to reducing infant mortality rates and enhancing the health and well-being of Baltimore's families.
  • Rise Family Support Center: Set to launch in summer 2024, the center will provide a range of services to foster family resilience and promote healing.

The new website also details the center’s efforts to connect the practical, hands-on side of social work with the bigger picture of addressing community issues. This approach helps us tackle challenges on both personal and systemic levels. Our goal is to empower people to advocate for themselves and their communities so effectively that the center is no longer needed.
