Volunteers are needed in a research study from the University of Maryland School of Social Work about occupational burnout in behavioral health care.

By completing this study, we hope to understand how early career nurses and social workers in behavioral health settings that specialize in substance use treatment avoid occupational burnout and what solutions are possible to reduce burnout.

If you participate in the project:

  • We will ask you to sign an informed consent document.
  • We will ask you to do a 45- to 60-minute interview on Zoom.
  • Once you complete the interview, you will receive a $50 electronic gift card.

To participate in the project, you must:

  • Be a nurse or social worker (minimum LPN or MSW).
  • Currently be working in a behavioral health setting specializing in substance use treatment and working there for at least six months but less than three years.
  • Work in Maryland.
