BGE Gas Line Project Moves West on Lexington Street This Fall
September 10, 2025A Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) project to upgrade gas service will continue to impact street and sidewalk traffic on Pearl, West Lexington, and North Pine streets this fall. This project has begun and is expected to continue through the end of this year (December 2025), with work occurring during daytime construction hours. The project is currently working at the intersection of Pearl and West Lexington streets and will work its way west on West Lexington Street over the next month. The project is expected to start work on North Pine Street beginning in mid-October.
During this time, street traffic will be slowed and intermittently stopped while work is executed. Pedestrians may encounter closed-off sidewalks or blocked crosswalks. Street parking restrictions may occur intermittently in active work zones. Occupants in nearby buildings may experience low-level noise impacts from excavation work. Please note that these are the expected dates of the impacts, but the exact dates might shift or be extended depending on weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
