Dr. Jill Duerr-Berrick

Join us for an author chat luncheon with Jill Duerr-Berrick, PhD, MSW, renowned child welfare scholar and author of "The Impossible Imperative," at the University of Maryland School of Social Work on Monday, Nov. 3, from 12-1:30 p.m. Room to be announced soon. Don't miss this chance to hear Duerr-Berrick discuss her work and insights on social policy and child welfare.

"The Impossible Imperative" is a collection of first-hand narrative experiences of front-line child welfare workers in California (who were her Title IV-E students at Berkeley). The book is remarkable for the inclusion of voices of former IV-E MSW students as well as for capturing the tension inherent in the competing principles of child protection.

If you are interested in joining the luncheon or receiving a free book (as supplies last), please contact Bethany Lee at blee@ssw.umaryland.edu.

The luncheon and books are sponsored by the Barth Professorship.
