Working together for the good of us all

The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is co-hosting the Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities (CUMU) 2025 Annual Conference: The Power of Place from Oct. 26-29 in Baltimore.

CUMU is an international affiliate organization of higher education institutions located in urban areas with a shared vision of what it means to anchor local communities. UMB has been a member of CUMU since 2019 and will be hosting a community experience for conference attendees at the UMB Community Engagement Center.

CUMU has issued a call for roundtable session proposals for its annual conference that showcase impactful work, critical perspectives, and innovative ideas in community engagement in the form of traditional sessions that include:

  • mini-workshops
  • panel presentations
  • research and impact presentations

And dynamic sessions that include:

  • poster sessions
  • roundtables

Proposals may highlight ongoing or completed work. Submissions are due Sept. 12 and will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis with expedited decisions until filled. To learn more about this exciting opportunity to share your community-engaged work, click here.
