Come spend a day of active learning with climate change and health equity thought leaders; University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) and University of Maryland, College Park faculty and students; and local climate nonprofit and community groups.
Lunchtime Keynote Speaker
Comptroller Brooke E. Lierman, the 34th comptroller of Maryland, is the first woman to be independently elected to one of our state’s constitutional offices. She is an attorney by training, practicing as a civil rights and disability rights lawyer for many years, and prior to her election as comptroller, she served for eight years as a member of the House of Delegates representing part of Baltimore City.
Her talk will focus on a report that outlines the categories and types of costs associated with climate change, followed by an examination of the costs of both action and inaction on climate change and its impacts.

- Exciting research by Marine-Estuarine Environmental Sciences/UMB students
- Action-oriented discussions
