Join the Core Values Conversation: Equity and Justice Question 7
April 09, 2025Welcome to the Core Values Conversation!
At the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), our core values are more than words, they are our way of life — the demonstration of what we stand for and the guide for our behaviors. Our core values of Respect and Integrity, Well-Being and Sustainability, Equity and Justice, and Innovation and Discovery are at the heart of our mission to improve the human condition and serve the public good of Maryland and society at-large.
From now through the end of April, we will be highlighting UMB’s core value of Equity and Justice: We embrace and are committed to diversity, and we value inclusive and just communities. We oppose racism and oppression in all their forms.
This is an opportunity to engage with this core value in an intentional way and share your insights with the UMB community.
You can be a catalyst for others by valuing Equity and Justice through your actions.
Question 7: Community engagement, joining together with those within and outside of your community to address systemic injustices, is one way of working toward justice. What is one way you will build community this week?
Responses will be posted to the core values webpage by the end of April.
