Core Values Graphic

At the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), our core values are more than aspirational statements. These values — Respect and Integrity, Well-Being and Sustainability, Equity and Justice, and Innovation and Discovery — shape our culture, guide our choices, and define how we treat one another.

This fall, we are spotlighting Respect and Integrity — the value that reminds us to treat one another with compassion and empathy, while holding ourselves accountable to act ethically and transparently.

Now through the end of October, we invite you to reflect not only on how this value has made a difference in your life, but how you can practice this value in your daily interactions.

This week’s challenge (Respect and Integrity Question 7):

People thrive when they know they will be treated with dignity and fairness. What is one step you can take to create safer, more respectful spaces for dialogue or collaboration this week?
