MSW Student Thomas Northrup Named 2025 Provost Climate Health & Resilience Summer Intern
April 29, 2025We are proud to announce that Thomas Northrup, a Master’s student in the School of Social Work’s Leadership, Policy, & Social Change concentration, has been selected as one of three students for the prestigious 2025 Provost Roger J. Ward, EdD, JD, MSL, MPA, Climate Health & Resilience Summer Internship.
This competitive internship follows the Climate Change, Health, and Society course and builds on projects initiated during the spring semester. The program is designed to train students in an interprofessional setting, preparing them to become future leaders in addressing climate change challenges in Maryland. As a summer intern, Thomas will help implement innovative solutions to the climate crisis, advancing UMB’s commitment to its core values of well-being and sustainability. Each student intern will receive a $6,600 stipend from the Provost’s Office in support of their work.
