Restorative Practices

Students in the Restorative Practices (RP) elective at the University of Maryland School of Nursing will host "Circle of Care: Nursing Students Advancing Restorative Justice in Health Care and Community" on May 21.

Over the past 15 weeks, this group of 10 students has explored restorative practices through in-depth modules, discussions, assignments, and circle practices. These experiences have deepened their understanding of restorative practices and their relevance to both health care and community settings.

This event will highlight the strides UMSON has made toward integrating restorative principles. RP students look forward to engaging in dialogue with members from other University of Maryland, Baltimore schools to explore how a restorative mindset can be applied through an interdisciplinary lens. The goal is to promote a more restorative approach to community building, harm prevention, and repair, and foster trust across professional practice.
