The UMSON Office of Strategic Engagement and Impact (SEI) is excited to announce the Core Values Faculty Award and Core Values Staff Award!

These awards recognize and celebrate the faculty and staff at UMSON who exemplify the UMB Core Values — Respect and Integrity, Well-Being and Sustainability, Equity and Justice, and Innovation and Discovery — in their daily work and interactions. 

These awards honor individuals whose actions and attitudes not only reflect these values but also inspire a culture of excellence, inclusion, and continuous improvement across the UMSON community. The recipient of this award works to: 

1. reinforce the importance of UMB’s Core Values in shaping a positive and impactful campus environment
2. encourage ongoing commitment to ethical leadership, community engagement, and innovation
3. foster a sense of pride and belonging among faculty, staff, and students.

Nominees will be evaluated on their actions from the last 12 months. Individuals are eligible to receive the award once every two years.

Self-nominations are welcome! 

The deadline to submit is Friday, Jan. 16, 2026. The winners will be announced at the SEI Summit, The Gathering, on Feb. 23, 2026.
