Nicholas Ambulos, PhD

Tuesday, May 13

3-4 p.m.

Howard Hall, Reid Room A (in-person session)

It's important to do research that is reproducible and rigorous. The general public, the scientific community, and grant funding agencies expect these qualities in research, but it's not always easy to know how to think about rigor and reproducibility and how to make sure that you have designed it into your studies.

Come and hear the Center for Innovative Biomedical Resources (CIBR) discuss ways to think about the National Institutes of Health elements of rigor: 1) rigor of the prior research, 2) rigor of the proposed research, 3) biological variables, and 4) authentication.

Target Audience: UMB grad students, postdoc, and junior faculty members

Please note: This is an in-person lecture.

This session is in collaboration with the Office of Career and Professional Development, University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM), and the Center for Advanced Research Training & Innovation, UMSOM

Speaker: Nicholas Ambulos, PhD, professor, Microbiology and Immunology; director, Center for Innovative Biomedical Resources; associate director for shared services, Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center; director, Genomics Core Facility, UMSOM
