UMSOP Scientist Receives American Lung Association Innovation Award to Advance Asthma Research

Ryan Pearson, PhD, associate professor of pharmaceutical sciences at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy and director of the School’s Bio- and Nano-Technology Center, has received an Innovation Award from the American Lung Association to support his groundbreaking research into novel asthma therapies. The two-year, $150,000 grant will support the development of a nanoparticle-based platform designed to promote immune tolerance in allergic airway diseases.
