Iyabo Obasanjo

The Graduate Research Colloquium provides faculty with an ongoing platform to share their research endeavors with the University of Maryland School of Graduate Studies and University of Maryland, Baltimore communities. With the goal of fostering a supportive environment and advancing interprofessional collaboration, each virtual monthly session will include a faculty presentation followed by an opportunity for questions and feedback.

Community Health Workers: Their Role in the Health Care Workforce
Community Health Workers (CHWs) focus on social determinants of health to improve health outcomes for culturally, economically, and geographically disadvantaged communities. Obasanjo is examining the career trajectory of CHWs and if they can successfully transition into health care roles to ameliorate the health manpower shortage.
