Cecil S. Kelly Memorial Employee of the Year (New Nomination Guidelines)
This award is a memorial to Cecil S. Kelly, who served at the University from Oct. 28, 1966, through Sept. 4, 1989. It annually recognizes a UMB staff member who exemplifies the qualities of service, humanity, and commitment that Kelly demonstrated throughout his career. The 12 Employee of Month winners are automatically nominated, and other nominated staff employees are eligible for the award. The $1,000 award is presented annually to a deserving staff member.
Nominations are due by Jan. 31, 2026.
James T. Hill Scholarship
In recognition of James T. Hill's long and outstanding service to the University and his personal commitment to the professional development of UMB employees, a $2,000 educational scholarship is presented annually to a deserving staff member.
Community Service Award
The Community Service Award recognizes excellence by a UMB employee in their commitment to improving the lives of others through community service on the local, national, or international levels. A $750 award is presented annually to a deserving staff member.
