The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) wishes to congratulate the awardees of the 2025 round of applications for the K12 Mentored Career Development Awards and T32 Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Clinical Research Training Awards. Junior faculty, predoctoral students, and postdoctoral fellows from all seven UMB schools (Dentistry, Graduate Studies, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Social Work) were invited to apply for this award.
The T32 Training Program is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) program. Funding for two predoctoral awardees is provided by the NIH National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA). One additional predoctoral awardee and one postdoctoral awardee are funded internally. The purpose of the T32 Awards is to support the training of biomedical, behavioral, and clinical researchers through individual training across all UMB schools.
The 2025 T32 CTSA and Internal Predoctoral awardees are Jerry Bohlen, Simon Doss-Gollin, and Jake Kim. The 2025 T32 Internal Postdoctoral Awardee is Alyssa Schledwitz, MD.
UMB K12 CTSA and internal awards are designed to develop the next generation of clinical investigators, guiding scholars toward independent clinical research careers. The UMB K12 program provides mentored career development to outstanding junior faculty who have recently completed professional training and are performing high-impact translational and/or clinical research. Scholars receive up to three years of support with access to multidisciplinary mentorship, formal coursework, and professional development opportunities. This year, we have two CTSA-funded K12 awardees and five internally funded K12 awardees.
The 2025 UMB K12 CTSA and Internal awardees are Sumanth Cherukumilli, MD; Margaret Connolly, MD; Florence Doo, MD, MA; Brian Englum, MD, MHS; Omar Harfouch, MD, MPH; Taariq Mohammed, MD; and Keisha Robinson, PhD, RN, CNM, C-EFM.
