The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) was recognized on the list of America’s Best Employers for Women for 2025 by Forbes magazine, ranking 36th among higher education institutions.
UMB is the only higher education institution from Maryland on the list.
This is the third honor in two years to recognize UMB’s commitment to women. In 2023, the University was among the inaugural recipients of The Daily Record Empowering Women Awards, which honor organizations in Maryland that show a strong commitment to supporting and elevating women. Also in 2023, UMB received the Executive Alliance’s 2023 Honor Roll Award for Women’s Representation for having women comprise at least 30 percent of its executive leadership and board.
The Forbes ranking, which was published on Forbes.com on July 30, was derived from an independent survey and a sample of over 140,000 women working for companies that employ at least 1,000 people within the United States from all industry sectors. More than 4 million employer evaluations were considered.
