UMSOD's Kathryn Pawlak, DDS '19, named one of ADA's 10 Under 10

Kathryn Pawlak, DDS ’19, a University of Maryland School of Dentistry (UMSOD) alumna, was recently named one of the American Dental Association’s (ADA) 10 Under 10 — an incredible honor recognizing early-career dentists who are making a powerful impact in the field.

The ADA New Dentist Committee selected this year’s honorees for their outstanding achievements and inspirational contributions in the areas of science, research and education, clinical excellence, philanthropy, leadership, and advocacy. All 10 recipients are ADA members who earned their dental degrees within the past decade. Each will receive a $1,000 cash prize and a commemorative plaque.

Pawlak founded Planet Smilez, a nonprofit organization committed to promoting oral health education and providing equal opportunities for underserved communities. Her dedication to advancing oral health and serving her community exemplifies the very best of what it means to be a UMSOD graduate.
