The Board of Regents Staff Awards Committee, part of the UMB Staff Senate, is pleased to announce the staff members whose nominations will be forwarded to the University System of Maryland for consideration. We are proud to recognize their outstanding contributions and commend their dedication to the University and greater community. We also extend our sincere thanks to all who were nominated but not forwarded this year — their service and achievements are deeply valued. The nominees:
- Nicole Palmore, MSW, executive director, Office of Employee and Organizational Success, Administration and Finance, has been nominated for the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Award
- Gehan Girguis, Law and Health Care Program specialist, Francis King Carey School of Law, has been nominated for the Outstanding Service to Students Award
- William J. Cooper, MBA, senior associate dean for administration and finance and chief operating officer, School of Pharmacy, has been nominated for the Exceptional Contribution to the Institution and/or Unit Award
- Sherry Bohn, PhD, MSL, CBSP, executive director, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), has been nominated for the Extraordinary Public Service for the University or Greater Community Award
- Shakiara Seals, program administrative specialist, EHS, has been nominated for the Excellence as a Team Player award
