Paige Jarreau

By now, most of us have heard the message: science needs to reach beyond academic audiences. The real question is: How do you make that happen, and whom should you partner with along the way?

Join the Science Communication certificate program at the University of Maryland School of Graduate Studies and Dr. Paige Brown Jarreau from Louisiana State University (LSU) in an interactive webinar on how collaboration can strengthen science storytelling.

In this webinar, you’ll learn how team science communication can elevate your storytelling and provide a wider variety of accessible science storytelling formats. Come ready to explore how teaming up with others — from illustrators to videographers to community advocates —  can improve your content production process and SciComm impact.

About the Speaker

Paige Brown Jarreau, PhD, MSc, is a Louisiana-based science communicator. She earned two degrees in biological engineering before realizing that storytelling was her real passion. She dove from science into communication and earned a PhD in mass communication in 2015, focusing on the intersection of science communication and new media. Since then, she has worked for academic science departments, a health software and education company, various science media outlets as a freelancer, and a federal dementia research lab, to help scientists creatively communicate their work and impacts. She is currently the director of research communications for LSU.
