Please join the Center for Health Equity and Outcomes Research (CHEOR) monthly meeting for "Pitch Your Work," in which attendees will learn how to craft brief, clear, and impactful pitches for research and professional projects.
Presentations will include:
Communications Best Practices
Mary T. Phelan, BA, manager of media and public relations, Office of Communications, will present on professional communication strategies for effective pitches.
Pitch Structure and Delivery
Susan L. Bindon, DNP ’11, MS ’96, RN, NPD-BC, CNE, FAAN, ANEF, associate professor, associate dean for faculty development, and director, Institute for Educators and Teaching in Nursing and Health Professions Certificate, will provide “Pitch in 2,” elevator pitch essentials, and “Pitch in 10,” key elements for brief conference or departmental presentations.
Accessible Engagement and Impact
Yvette Conyers, DNP, RN, FNP-C, CTN-B, CFCN, CFCS, CNE, FADLN, CWCN-AP, FNAP, assistant professor and associate dean for strategic engagement and impact, will discuss accessibility and inclusivity in pitches and strategies for pitching to policymakers.
Practice and Discussion
Attendees will be encouraged to try a pitch, receive feedback, and participate in a Q&A.
