Braxton Mitchell, Amber Beitelshees, and Alejandra Guiterrez Headshots

Please join the UMB Institute for Clinical & Translational Research (ICTR) in welcoming Braxton D. Mitchell, PhD, MPH, and Amber Beitelshees, PharmD, MPH, who will present on “How the Amish Research Clinic Can Advance Your Research,” and Alejandra Gutierrez, PhD, who will present on “Unlocking Research Potential with UMB BioBank Service."

“How the Amish Research Clinic Can Advance Your Research”

Discussion synopsis: Established in 1995, the ARC serves as the foundation for the Amish Research Program and has recruited more than 10,000 Amish participants from the Lancaster, Pa., Amish community into research studies. With a dedicated team of research nurses, Amish liaisons, and a laboratory technician, the ARC provides infrastructure for population-based recruitment and supports a wide range of clinical research protocols. In this presentation, Mitchell and Beitelshees will highlight the capabilities of the ARC, share examples of ARC-supported projects, and describe how these resources can advance your research — from participant recruitment and survey implementation to clinical and translational investigations.

“Unlocking Research Potential with UMB BioBank Service"

Discussion synopsis: The UMB BioBank is the specimen repository for the Amish Research Clinic. Gutierrez will feature the UMB BioBank’s capabilities and describe how these resources can advance your research as well — from biospecimen collection and processing to secure storage, data integration, and support for high-quality clinical and translational investigations.
