Hanae Saito, DDS, MS, CRC, clinical associate professor in the Division of Periodontics, University of Maryland School of Dentistry, was featured in Baltimore Magazine for an interview highlighting the importance of oral hygiene for overall wellness in honor of Gum Disease Awareness Month. She explains that untreated plaque can quickly lead to gum inflammation, known as gingivitis, which often develops without pain and can go unnoticed. Regular care is key to preventing gum disease and supporting whole-body health.
