This holiday season, we’re inviting the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) community to put its creativity to work.
Faculty, staff, and students from across our seven schools and administrative units are invited to Build a Little UMB Holiday Magic by creating a gingerbread house, scene, or other creation inspired by UMB.
Build UMB your way. Your creation can be a recognizable UMB building or landmark, a school-specific space, a lab, clinic, classroom, campus scene — or something completely imaginative inspired by UMB.
Add your own signature details, characters, inside jokes, or creative touches. The more UMB personality, the better!
- No baking or architectural experience is required — just creativity, collaboration, and a little imagination.
- Creations will be displayed at the UMB Holiday Market on Dec. 2.
- Vote for your favorite. Prizes will be awarded!
Need some inspiration?
Consider building:
- Davidge Hall
- SMC Campus Center
- Community Engagement Center
- School-specific building or space
- URecFit
- Research lab
- Operating room
- Dental office
- Donaldson Brown Center’s mansion
- Something else entirely from your own imagination
The goal isn't to achieve architectural perfection — it's about creativity, collaboration, and having a little fun.
Gather a team from your school, department, office, student organization, or group of friends and start building!
