Dream Disability Justice with two people with arms raised

Interested in advocating for accessibility, connecting with fellow disabled students, and learning more about disability justice? The DREAM Disability Justice Student Group is restarting this fall after a hiatus of a few years! If you would like to join, please send an email to dream.umb@gmail.com. Membership is open to all students, faculty, staff, and alumni of UMB.

In the past, DREAM advocated for curriculum changes at the School of Social Work, including proposing a disability justice and accessibility sub-specialization and renaming the diagnosis course. DREAM wrote a disability section in the social work pre-req course and created an "Ableism 101" training that reached about 200 people. DREAM also won improvements to UMB student health insurance for students with disabilities and simplified social work licensing exam accommodation processes. Additionally, DREAM helped host a Lavender Graduation celebrating the intersection of disability and LGBTQ identities.
