Join the University of Maryland School of Medicine's Center for Disability Justice for our third Disability Dialogue research seminar of 2026 at noon April 23 to hear from Julie Rekant, DPT, PhD, an assistant professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science. Rekant is the center’s new assistive and adaptive technology core lead and will present her research on:
- Creating prosthetic development priorities inclusive of the perspectives of adults with upper limb loss, clinicians, and device regulators
- Devices to detect subtle changes in walking that may signal vulnerability to rapid mobility loss
