University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) students are eligible for 50 percent off registration for the International Social Service-United States of America (ISS-USA) 100th Anniversary Symposium, taking place Oct. 9 from 1-4:30 p.m. at the SMC Campus Center.
The half-day symposium will bring together practitioners, policymakers, researchers, advocates, and students to reflect on the enduring questions that have shaped social services for a century and explore the evolving approaches needed to meet today's challenges. Through two expert panels, participants will explore how social work, law, child welfare, immigration, and related fields can strengthen interdisciplinary practice and prepare the future workforce needed to support children and families across borders. Continuing education units (CEUs) will be available for registered participants.
As part of its centennial celebration, ISS-USA is extending a discounted registration offer to all UMB students.
