Join us in Fall 2026 for an engaging exploration of how communicable and non-communicable diseases shape health outcomes across the globe. This course examines the complex relationships among diseases, health disparities, and health care systems that influence population health worldwide.

Credits: 3 graduate credits
Format: Fully online (asynchronous)
Eligibility: Open to all graduate-level students (MSN, DNP, and PhD) across disciplines, including nursing, medicine, public health, social work, pharmacy, law, and dentistry.

What You Will Learn:

Students will develop both foundational and applied skills using the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework and a transdisciplinary approach to global health. Throughout the course, students will:

  • examine the burden and determinants of global morbidity and mortality
  • analyze communicable and non-communicable diseases across nations and regions
  • explore the impact of health disparities and healthcare systems on population outcomes
  • develop evidence-based policy recommendations
  • design prevention and intervention strategies tailored to specific global contexts.

This course is ideal for students interested in global health, health equity, policy, population health, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
