March 24: UMB ICTR Enrichment Seminar: ‘From Claims to Communities: Building Trusted Data Partnerships to Advance Health in Maryland’
March 17, 2026
Please join the UMB Institute for Clinical & Translational Research (ICTR) in welcoming Alice Middleton, JD, who will present on “From Claims to Communities: Building Trusted Data Partnerships to Advance Health in Maryland.”
Discussion synopsis: Administrative and program data can power high-impact clinical and translational research — when the right partnerships, governance, and shared expectations are in place. In this seminar, Alice Middleton will describe how The Hilltop Institute supports applied research and evaluation using large-scale health program and claims data, and how investigators can collaborate to translate analytic findings into actionable insights for communities and decision-makers. The talk will highlight practical considerations for launching cross-institution partnerships (e.g., aligning research questions with stakeholder needs, establishing clear data stewardship and privacy expectations, and defining outputs that matter), and include concrete examples of collaboration pathways that can help ICTR investigators move efficiently from idea to impact.
Tuesday, March 24, noon to 1 p.m.
