Hi everyone! My name is Abby, and I’m entering my final semester of the MSN-E program. Prior to nursing school, I studied philosophy and psychology at Salisbury University. I love being involved on campus and currently serve as a peer tutor, mentor, Student Ambassador, and Conway Scholar. I'm excited to connect and chat about all things nursing!

Hi all! My name is Cheska! I am in my final semester of the MSN-E program! I have my undergrad degree from Notre Dame of Maryland as a health science major. I love all things with the brain and spine, and I hope to continue my career in the neuro critical care field. Outside of school I love reading and traveling! I am so excited to finish off my time at UMSON talking about all things nursing!

Hello, my name is Jashante Beale, I am a third-semester BSN student at the Universities at Shady Grove, and this is my first year as a Student Ambassador. Outside of nursing, I’m a dedicated cheer coach who loves motivating, mentoring, and helping young athletes grow both on and off the mat.

Hello, my name is Kady Iglesias! I am a third-semester student at USG. This is my second year being a Student Ambassador. When I graduate I plan to start becoming an aesthetics nurse. I love being here at UMSON!
Simona Dike
Hi my name is Simona Dike! I am a third-semester student in the BSN program in Baltimore. I love UMSON, and it’s my second year as a Student Ambassador. I love to travel, make content, and go out with my friends!
Lexi Naranjo
Hi! My name is Lexi, and I am a second-semester nursing student at UMSON. I hope to pursue a career in ICU, trauma, or emergency department nursing, with the long-term goal of earning my DNP and becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner. UMSON has provided me with an incredible sense of belonging and amazing opportunities to get involved, grow as a future nurse, and stay connected with my fellow nursing students.
Jonathan Gavel
Hi, my name is Jonathan Gavel, but I go by Jon. I am a second-semester student. I am very passionate about cooking, traveling, nature, and having new experiences. I am interested in one day working in pediatrics and/or the ER. I enjoy meeting and socializing with others on campus, sometimes a little too much when I should be studying instead!
Olivia Solomon
Hi, my name is Olivia! I’m a fourth-semester student interested in postpartum health and/or pediatrics. In my free time, I love traveling, baking, and playing piano/singing. I’m excited to support students and help them grow at UMSON!
Rhiannon Frix
Hi everyone! I’m Rhiannon, a fourth-semester BSN student at UMSON graduating in December. I work in pediatric hematology/oncology/BMT at Children’s National and have also gained experience in pediatric emergency and critical care. After graduation, I hope to become a pediatric nurse specializing in emergency or critical care. When I’m not juggling school and work, I’m usually spending time with my daughter, getting lost in a good book, experimenting with my sourdough starter, Doughlene, or enjoying time on the water paddle boarding! I love connecting with new people and am excited to continue supporting the UMSON community as a Student Ambassador. Hi, my name is Karina Maradiaga. I graduated from American University with a degree in biology and currently work in clinical research while pursuing my BSN at the University of Maryland School of Nursing. Outside of school and clinicals, I love visiting coffee shops, hiking, staying active, baking, hanging out with my friends, and capturing every little moment through photos of new places and experiences.
Saron Birke
My name is Saron Birke, and I am a first-semester nursing student at the University of Maryland School of Nursing at the Universities at Shady Grove. I am originally from Ethiopia. I am passionate about health care, helping others, and connecting with people. As a Student Ambassador, I am excited to share my experiences, support future nursing students, and help others feel welcomed throughout their journey. Outside of school, I enjoy baking, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.
Francesca Caraballo
Hey UMSON, my name is Francesca and I am a second-year BSN student graduating in 2027. I started my nursing journey as a patient care technician and sharing bits and pieces of my life online and now I get to share it with you! Outside of school I am a part-time baker and fitness lover!
