Join us in the Fall 2026 semester to explore how pragmatic research trials can bridge the gap between research and clinical practice, supporting real-world improvements in health care delivery and outcomes.

Course: This is a 3-credit, fully online course with weekly synchronous virtual class sessions. All graduate-level students (MSN, DNP, and PhD) may take this course as an elective. There are no prerequisites required.

What You Will Learn: Students will gain foundational knowledge of pragmatic research trials (PRTs) and their role in embedding research directly into health care systems to address critical nursing and health workforce challenges. The course emphasizes the design, methods, and analytic approaches used in pragmatic research, including exposure to relevant databases and analytic tools such as R. PhD and DNP students will collaborate in interdisciplinary teams to develop research questions and project proposals focused on real-world clinical and population health problems. Through interactive lab sessions, students will engage in applied learning, including working with example projects and guided group activities.
