Cecil S. Kelly Memorial Employee of the Year
This award is a memorial to Cecil S. Kelly, who served at the University from Oct. 28, 1966, through Sept. 4, 1989. It annually recognizes a UMB staff member who exemplifies the service, humanity, and commitment Kelly demonstrated throughout his career. The 12 Employee of the Month winners are automatically nominated, and other nominated staff members are eligible for the award. The University presents the $1,000 award annually to a deserving staff member. Nominations for the award are due by Dec. 18, 2026.
In recognition of James T. Hill's long and outstanding service to the University and his personal commitment to the professional development of UMB employees, a $2,000 educational scholarship is presented annually to a deserving staff member. Apply for the scholarship by Dec. 18, 2026.
The Community Service Award recognizes excellence by honoring UMB employees for their commitment to improving others' lives through community service at the local, national, or international level. A $750 award is presented annually to a deserving staff member. Nominate or apply for the award by Dec. 18, 2026.
