Join UMSSW’s Peter Smith, MRE, MDiv., MSW, PhD, LCSW-C, for a screening and panel discussion of "Everybody to Kenmure Street" on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. at the Parkway Theatre, 5 W. North Ave., Baltimore. Hosted by UMSSW alumna Miriam Doyle, MSW ’16, the documentary chronicles how hundreds of residents in Glasgow’s diverse Pollokshields neighborhood rallied to stop the detention and deportation of their neighbors following a May 2021 immigration raid.
Following the screening, Smith will join activists and mutual aid representatives for a short panel discussion and audience Q&A exploring nonviolent resistance, immigrant solidarity, and the power of collective action. The conversation will connect lessons from Kenmure Street with efforts to support immigrant communities today, offering perspectives grounded in community organizing, scholarship, and theology.
Attend the screening and conversation to explore how communities can turn solidarity into action.
