Participants Needed: Impact of GLP-1 Receptor Agonists on Ocular and Systemic Microvascular Blood Flow
July 21, 2026Help us study how GLP-1 medications (Ozempic, Trulicity, Wegovy, etc.) affect blood flow in the eye and throughout the body. Your participation will help us understand the effects of these commonly used diabetes and weight-loss medications on the eye and overall vascular health.
Study Snapshot: 5 visits total
- Pre-treatment
- 1 week after starting treatment
- 1 month after treatment
- 3 months after treatment
- 6 months starting treatment
Part 1: Pictures of eye circulation
Part 2: Pictures of eye structure
Part 3: Nailfold Imaging
Study duration: 1.5 to 2 hours
Compensation: $250 ($50 gift card per visit)
Parking and Transportation Included
Eligibility
Must Be:
- Age 18 and older
- Starting treatment with GLP-1 receptor agonist
Must Not Have:
- Ocular diseases or surgeries that interfere with imaging
- Known problems with your optic nerve
- Pregnant
- Adverse reaction to dilation
