September 30, 2026
The University of Maryland, Baltimore’s (UMB) 2026 Annual Clery Security and Fire Safety Report includes valuable insight into crime that occurred on and adjacent to UMB during the last year, as well as fire occurrences.
Thomas Leone, MSL, assistant vice president for public safety and chief of police, says, “UMB continues to be one of the safest areas in downtown Baltimore, and crime on our campus remains consistently low. At the same time, we know that creating a safe community goes beyond data. That’s why I encourage you to take a few minutes to look through this year’s report. In addition to crime statistics, you’ll find information about safety resources, crime prevention, emergency preparedness, policies, and services available to you. You might even discover a resource you didn’t know was available!"
UMB encourages you to take the time to read the report, which includes specific campus crime and arrest statistics for the last three years. It also contains University policies and practices intended to promote crime awareness, campus safety, and security, such as what to do in an emergency.
Your safety is our No. 1 priority.
