CVD Global Health

The University of Maryland School of Medicine’s (UMSOM) Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health (CVD) will host a panel discussion at 8:30 a.m. April 20 exploring the far-reaching consequences of climate change on public health, using both a global lens and looking specifically at challenges Maryland faces. The event will feature opening remarks by UMSOM Dean Mark T. Gladwin, MD, and CVD Director Stefan Kappe, PhD.

The panel will assemble a distinguished group of experts, including:

  • Stephanie Knight, MD, assistant professor, UMSOM
  • Lars Peter Riishojgaard, PhD, professor and director, Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center, University of Maryland
  • Christopher Beck, deputy program manager, Climate Change Program, Maryland Department of the Environment
  • Thomas Northrup, master's student, University of Maryland School of Social Work
